Loving it

Still loving it.
Everything all nice and easy around here. At least that ‘having a newborn around nice and easy’. Theo is lovely, but can be a pain at times, crying just when that football match is on – he didn’t get that part where I explained to him Gemany was already qualified – but apart from those lesser things everything is indeed fine.
Andrea took him to the doctors today, and as it turns out he has been growing rapidly in the past weeks. Now weighing in at 4.800 g on 55 cm of pure muscle, bone and that enormous organ responsible for the sheer crying power.

Theo at three weeks

Three weeks have passed since Theo arrived, and we are still adjusting our lives to this. The last week was quite tough for us, we got a little less sleep than we had wished for, but Theo makes up for this.
Last night we took Theo out to two parties at friends’ places, and he really showed his best side – completely sleeping through those parties. We learned two things from this – Theo likes loud parties, enjoys rock music as much as we do and only goes back to crying the next morning when both parents wish for that little extra bit of sleep.

More than a week has passed since little Theo stepped into our lives, and unsurprisingly everything has changed. We sleep a little, we change diapers a lot, we are tired, we are happy, our lives have been turned upside down and we’re loving it. Tomorrow will be my first half day back at the office – just a quick visit to see if everything is still in place – and I am already nervous, knowing I’ll have to leave my little family at home.

One week ago today our little son Theo arrived, and as you can guess, it has been an exciting week. Nights with little sleep, days full of activity and that little one at the center of everything we are doing. It’s been quite an experience, our little sunshine pretty much changed everything. Today we will be taking him outside for the first time, it is sunny and pretty warm, perfect conditions for a first contact with the outside world.

On Sunday, Oct. 18th at 03.43 in the morning our son Theo Franciscus arrived. Weighing in at 3360 gramms – looking perfect on his beautiful 50 cms. We are really, really happy, it’s a true gift to us. Even though nights have become shorter and more fragmented we are doing fine, enjoying this new phase in our lives as much as we can.
